Certification and Accreditation Seminar of Emerging Economies Held

Certification and Accreditation Seminar of Emerging Economies was held in Fuzhou from 5h to 7th Dec. 2012. The Seminar was organized by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The theme of the Seminar is Certification and Accreditation System and Its Role in Promoting International Trade.
Over 50 representatives from Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA), GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), National Accreditation Body of Indonesia (KAN), as well as from various domestic bodies were invited. Mr. Liu Weijun, Chief Technical Supervisor of the Certification and Accreditation Administration, P.R.C. (CNCA), Mr. Fan Enjian, Deputy Chief Executive of CNAS, Mr. Guo Zhongpeng, Vice Director of Fujian entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau of P.R.C, and Mr. Liu Shaowen, General Engineer of Fujian Provincial Quality and Technology Supervision Bureau of P.R.C addressed at the Seminar. Representatives from PCA,GSO,SASO, CNCA, CNAS, China Certification and Accreditation Association (CCAA) and some relevant domestic delegates introduced rules and regulations, certification and accreditation systems, and also the progress of accreditation of their bodies. After the Seminar, the representatives visited Fujian Inspection and Research Institute for Product Quality and its laboratories.
The Seminar achieved positive result in boosting certification and accreditation in the emerging economies, and playing the role of certification and accreditation in promoting international trade, and promoting exchange and cooperation in certification and accreditation between China and the emerging economies.
