On April 25th, 2026, at the General Assembly of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI) held in Prague, the Czech Republic, Mr. Fei Yang, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) Secretariat, officially took office as Vice Chair of the Global ACI Development Support Committee for a three-year term. Mr. Fei Yang was elected to this position in the vice chair elections for Global ACI's committees earlier in 2026, and formally assumed his duties starting from this meeting.

Global ACI is an international cooperation organization for global accreditation bodies and accreditation-related stakeholders, formed by the merger of the former International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), which officially commenced operations on January 1st, 2026. The core mandate of the Global ACI Development Support Committee is to provide technical support and financial assistance to accreditation bodies in developing economies, and advance their capacity building and business development.

The election of the CNAS representative fully demonstrates the further enhancement of China's role and influence in the international accreditation sector. It will help China better play its part in global accreditation governance, and contribute China's experience and solutions in accreditation to the world.

In recent years, CNAS has continuously deepened international cooperation in accreditation, taken an in-depth part in the work of international accreditation organizations, actively provided technical assistance to relevant accreditation bodies, and vigorously promoted pragmatic cooperation with accreditation bodies in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), with its international influence rising steadily. Up to now, more than 20 CNAS staffs hold various management or technical positions in relevant international organizations, and 12 serve as peer evaluators for international accreditation organizations.
